About REDWOOD VISCOMETER (1)
Redwood viscometer apparatus are widely used in Petroleum Laboratories, Industries, Oil Refineries, Educational Institutions,Research Organisations for standerdisation and determines the Viscosity of Petroleum products, which flows in a newtonian liquid except cut back Bitumens and road oils at the set temperature, They confirm to requirement of IP 70. Two adaption of Redwood Viscometers are available.Redwood Viscometers No. I for liquids having Redwood Flow 20 seconds to 2000 Seconds and Redwood Viscometers No. II exceeds 2000.The complete outfit comprises hemmertone finish, copper/Stainless steel bath with drain plug, electrical heating arrangement,Suitable to operate at 220 Volts 50 Hz AC mains Or gas heating arrangement with silver plated oil cup with precision stainless steel jet, ball value, cover, thermometer clip, stirrer and suitable stand with levelling screws. The sample required to be tested, is to fill in to the required level as indicated by the gauge in a cup having a Stainless Steel jet fixed in the bottom. The temperature is maintained during the test by heating the liquid in a bath surrounding the cup,and the flow time for 50 ml of the sample is measured.
Reliable Viscosity Testing for Petroleum ProductsThe REDWOOD VISCOMETER (1) delivers trustworthy results for viscosity measurement, following international standards like IS 1448 and ASTM D445. Its precision-fitted valve and graduated cylinder observation allow users to conduct tests with accurate resolution and quick response, vital for quality control in industrial labs.
Robust Design with Manual OperationCrafted with brass and MS materials, the viscometer features a powder-coated finish for durability. The manual stirring mechanism, water bath for temperature control, and table-top mounting make it easy to operate and maintain. Its standardized orifice and cup capacity facilitate consistent measurements across specimens.
FAQs of REDWOOD VISCOMETER (1):
Q: How does the REDWOOD VISCOMETER (1) measure viscosity?
A: The device measures viscosity by recording the time required for a fixed volume of petroleum product to flow through a standard orifice at controlled temperatures (up to 100C), with results read as Redwood Seconds.
Q: What is the process for conducting a test with this viscometer?
A: To conduct a test, fill the brass oil cup with a 50 ml sample, heat water in the double-walled bath to the desired temperature, and manually operate the valve to initiate flow. Observe and record the elapsed time in the graduated cylinder.
